Music documentary of American bluesman, Johnny Mars, a pioneer of amplified electric blues harmonica who developed his own highly unique sound using pedals and effects. His name is synonymous with soul-stirring blues harmonica melodies and rich vocals that have captivated audiences for decades. He cites his influences with the harmonica as Little Walter, Junior Wells, Jimmy Reed, and Sonny Terry, and plays both acoustic blues harmonica and with the electronic effects which made him famous.
His electrifying performances, authentic storytelling through his music and his powerful vocals are highlighted in this series of performances recorded by Blues Archive in 1997 and 1998.
Anglo-Irish band Buick 6 was formed in 1989 by Roger Hubbard (guitar/vocals), Colin Gibson (bass) and Liam Genockey (drums) taking their name from the Bob Dylan number 'From A Buick 6'. Their style is Mississippi Delta Blues fused with elements of folk performed together with great percussive backing on drums and bass and outstanding slide guitar from Roger Hubbard. Roger was featured on the front page of "Rolling Stone" magazine around 1970 and Muddy Waters was a fan. Colin Gibson (backing vocals & bass) has played bass for Van Morrison and Ginger Baker. Liam Genockey (drums) has worked with Steeleye Spann and Paul Brady, Gerry Rafferty's band and the Penguin Cafe Orchestra. Recorded in concert by Blues Archive in 1998.

Music documentary from Blues Archive recorded in 1997 featuring Tim Rose in interview and performance.
Tim Rose was an American songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist in the 1960's who merged folk, blues, rock, and country to create an eclectic repertoire that was difficult to pigeonhole. Rose skirted mainstream success but became a legendary cult figure, especially in Europe. He is considered nearly mythical, a musician who produced some of the most inspiring, and at the same time strangely neglected, songs of his time. Rose is regarded as a pioneer of folk-rock, a genre that blends the earnestness and melodic quality of folk music with the instrumentation and rhythms of rock 'n' roll.
This two- part documentary was recorded by Blues Archive at The Buxton Opera House, Buxton, Derbyshire- the interview 4th May 1997 at The Alexis Korner Memorial Concert and the performance 5th October 1997 at The Rory Gallagher Memorial Concert.
