Buick 6 Delta Blues
Anglo-Irish band Buick 6 was formed in 1989 by Roger Hubbard (guitar/vocals), Colin Gibson (bass) and Liam Genockey (drums) taking their name from the Bob Dylan number 'From A Buick 6'. Their style is Mississippi Delta Blues fused with elements of folk performed together with great percussive backing on drums and bass and outstanding slide guitar from Roger Hubbard. Roger was featured on the front page of "Rolling Stone" magazine around 1970 and Muddy Waters was a fan. Colin Gibson (backing vocals & bass) has played bass for Van Morrison and Ginger Baker. Liam Genockey (drums) has worked with Steeleye Spann and Paul Brady, Gerry Rafferty's band and the Penguin Cafe Orchestra. Recorded in concert by Blues Archive in 1998.
